Drips, runs, clogs and leaks at the fixture. The everyday plumbing that doesn’t need a wall opened up.

  • Dripping faucets and worn cartridges
  • Running or weak-flushing toilets
  • Slow or clogged sink and tub drains
  • Leaks under sinks and at supply lines
  • Wobbly toilets and failed wax seals
  • Showerheads, aerators and diverters

What to send us
A photo of the fixture and the cabinet or floor underneath it. The brand if you can see it (it helps us bring the right parts), and whether the problem is constant or comes and goes.
Good to know
Water heaters, gas lines, sewer lines and anything inside the walls are jobs for a licensed plumber. If that’s where the problem turns out to be, we’ll say so.

Doors, windows & locks

Request this repair: doors, windows & locks

Doors that stick, drag, rattle or won’t latch, and windows that won’t open, close or seal properly.

  • Sticking, dragging or sagging doors
  • Latches that won’t catch
  • Locksets, deadbolts and handles replaced
  • Squeaky or loose hinges
  • Door closers, stops and sweeps
  • Drafty doors re-weatherstripped
  • Sliding door rollers and tracks
  • Window cranks, latches and torn screens
What to send us
Where it sticks (top, side or bottom) and whether it’s worse in humid weather. For locks, a photo of the current hardware and the edge of the door.
Good to know
A door that suddenly starts sticking can be a sign of something else moving. If we think that’s the case, we’ll tell you before we plane anything down.

Walls, drywall & paint

Request this repair: walls, drywall & paint

Holes, cracks, dents, water marks and tired paint, patched so you can’t find where the damage was.

  • Drywall holes, from nail pops to doorknob dents
  • Cracks at corners and ceiling lines
  • Patching after old fixtures come down
  • Texture matched on walls and ceilings
  • Water stains repaired once the leak is fixed
  • Touch-ups and single-room repaints
  • Caulk gaps at trim and baseboards

What to send us
Roughly how big the damage is (a coin, a hand, a dinner plate), a photo with the room lights on, and whether you have leftover paint.
Good to know
A water stain comes back if the source isn’t fixed. If it’s fresh, we’ll want to know why before we paint over it. If we find signs of mold, we stop and tell you; that’s specialist work.

What to send us
One photo from a step back and one up close. For cabinets, a photo of the hinge with the door open.
Good to know
Older trim profiles aren’t always available off the shelf. Where we can’t match exactly, we’ll show you the closest options before cutting anything.

Flooring & tile

Request this repair: flooring & tile

Cracked grout, loose tiles, squeaks, lifting planks and worn thresholds. The small floor problems that trip people up.

  • Regrouting and grout repair
  • Cracked or loose tiles replaced
  • Tubs, showers and backsplashes re-caulked
  • Squeaky floor spots quieted
  • Lifting or damaged laminate and vinyl planks
  • Transition and threshold strips
What to send us
Whether you have spare tiles or planks (check the garage). If not, a close-up photo helps us look for a match.
Good to know
An exact match isn’t always possible with older tile or discontinued flooring. We’ll tell you what we can find before we start lifting anything.

Fixtures & fittings

Request this repair: fixtures & fittings

The things that hang on walls and ceilings, and the hardware that makes rooms usable.

  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans swapped like‑for‑like
  • Towel bars, toilet roll holders and hooks
  • Mirrors, art and heavy frames hung properly
  • TV wall mounts, wall type permitting
  • Curtain rods, blinds and shades
  • Cabinet knobs and pulls
  • Smoke and CO alarms replaced
  • Grab bars fixed into solid backing
What to send us
What you’re hanging and roughly how heavy it is, plus what the wall is made of (drywall, plaster, tile or brick) if you know.
Good to know
We replace fixtures where the wiring is already in place. New circuits, panel work and new wiring runs need a licensed electrician.

Gutters, fences & decks

Request this repair: gutters, fences & decks

The outside jobs that weather makes worse if they’re left for another season.

  • Gutters cleaned and leaky seams resealed
  • Sagging gutters and downspouts re-hung
  • Fence boards, pickets and gate latches
  • Gates that drag or won’t close
  • Deck boards replaced, loose railings tightened
  • Exterior caulking around windows and doors
  • Small siding and exterior trim repairs
  • Mailboxes and house numbers
What to send us
How high up it is (one story or two). Photos taken from the ground are fine.
Good to know
If a deck’s posts, beams or ledger look compromised, we’ll recommend a structural assessment rather than patch over it. We don’t do roofing.

APP · 08/08

Appliance installs

Request this repair: appliance installs

New appliances in, connected and level, using the water, drain and power connections already there.

  • Dishwashers
  • Electric washers and dryers, including dryer vents
  • Over-the-range microwaves
  • Range hoods replaced like‑for‑like
  • Refrigerator water lines
  • Garbage disposals
  • Leveling and anti-tip brackets
What to send us
The make and model of the new appliance (and the old one, if you know it), and a photo of where it’s going, including the connections behind it.
Good to know
We don’t connect gas appliances of any kind, or installs that need a new circuit or a new water line run through walls.

N/ANot for us

What we don’t take on.

Some work needs a specialist trade license or a structural engineer. We don’t do it, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If your job turns out to be one of these, we’ll tell you plainly.

  • Gas lines and gas appliances
  • Electrical panels, new circuits and rewiring
  • HVAC systems and refrigerant work
  • Water heaters and sewer lines
  • Roofing
  • Structural work: load-bearing walls, foundations, deck framing
  • Mold and asbestos removal
